Mi Chiamo is Italian for "My Name is" and is used as a method of introducing one's self to others. I started Mi Chiamo Eka after being name by Washingtonian Magazine as one of Washington, DC's Best Dressed for 2007. I frequently received compliments on my designs which eventually led to the Best Dressed accolade.

Everyone I knew had the same problem about department stores off the rack suits: "The shirt fits my body but the sleeves are too short" or "I like the suit but it doesn't fit me well". For the amount of money you'd spend to modify an "off the rack" suit or shirt, you could easily purchase a high quality suit or dress shirt for a reasonable price. This leads to better quality and longer garment life. I realized that an opportunity existed to provide high quality and fashionable garments.

In essence, the clothing line is a way of not only introducing my name, but a way of introducing my style to others.
